We study complex systems — from molecular mechanisms to real-world transformation
Our research focuses on complex systems analysis across scales — from the molecular level to societal and organizational transformation.
At the molecular and nanoscale, we develop biophysical approaches, biosensors, and functional in vitro assays to investigate drug-induced side effects and molecular mechanisms of pharmaceutical compounds. Our work contributes to improved safety pharmacology and supports animal-free safety testing strategies.
At the organizational and societal level, we investigate processes of digital and sustainable transformation in laboratories, higher education, and institutions. This includes the development of digital tools, process innovations, and quality assurance strategies that improve safety, transparency, and efficiency in complex research and production environments.
Across both domains, we aim to combine biophysical insight with digital and process innovation to improve safety, quality, and resilience in science, industry, and society.
Our Lab belongs to the Life Sciences Faculty at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University.
